Program

The years 2020 and 2021 with all their challenges forced a boost in digitalisation. The research communities were faced with online talks, online conferences and online exchange of ideas. Since summer of 2021 will most likely still be dominated by travel restriction the organisation of large-scale standard conferences is mostly impossible. To give in particular the young researchers of the German probability and statistics community more visibility and occasions to discuss their results the German Probability and Statistics Days will take place virtually. In contrast to 2020 the situation will (hopefully!) be new again: a virtual conference from the office. Similarly to the Bernoulli-IMS One World Symposium 2020 the main focus of GPSD Mannheim lies on discussions of prerecorded talks. Participants will upload their contributions before the conference, live discussions of the talks take place during the conference.

As for all virtual conferences the spirit of GPSD Mannheim is very much experimental.

Researchers from all stages of academic careers are invited to present their research work!

The conference has following structure:

  • Both plenary talks are streamed live on zoom.

  • Prerecorded talks on original research work were prerecorded by the speakers. One week before the conference all talks are available for streaming. During the conference week there will be live discussions (via zoom) for every single talk. All participants are invited to meet the speakers for live discussions of the contributions.

  • Every discussion session is opened by a 20 minute invited live talk.

  • Virtual interactions will be organised within the sessions during the week.

  • A virtual social event will be organised for Wednesday afternoon/evening.
